rurAllure contribution to the Via Francigena in France strategic planning

ruAllure was featured at the workshop “Imagining and building together the Via Francigena of tomorrow” held in Allouagne, Pas de Calais, on 18 November 2022. 

Local stakeholders, municipal administrators, tourism offices, universities, associations, and economic actors together with the representatives of the European Association of the Via Francigena ways shared their ideas for the Strategic Plan 2023-2025 for the Via Francigena in the region, viewed as an essential resource for sustainable and green tourism in an area that embraces 250km of the route. On the occasion of the workshop section on the scientific research, the EAVF Director Luca Bruschi highlighted how rurAllure places museums and cultural heritage sites at the center of the European pilgrimage routes.  

“In 2016, the University of Lille has already collaborated with the EAVF for a pilot project on the digitization of the heritage in the French section. The professors present at the atelier have shown an interest in continuing the cooperation on the Via Francigena in the field of research and technological development, with reference to the enhancement of the cultural assets along the route” he commented.
